Brioschi - Interesting (maybe) note: Around the turn of the last century the Brioschi company of Italy began making a successful antacid relief powder named “Brioschi” (pronounced bree-OSS-kee) about the same time Bromo Seltzer got started. I remember the Brioschi commercials on TV in the 50's when I was a kid. The founder of Brioschi Company was Achille Brioschi whom I believe was a close relative of Francesco Brioschi the mathemetician.

Bob, The company still exists, still makes poweders, but not connected to the original Brioschi company in Italy. Not sure about the relationship, more impressed that Francesco was teacher of Luigi Cremona

Pat, you are so right about Francesco and Cremona! And I am also impressed by Tranquillo Cremona, Luigi Cremona's brother, who was a painter belonging to the Scapigliatura movement and whose friend was another talented artist and writer, Carlo Dossi, who once said "Before I've read them, I never write my name into the books I buy, because only after that I can call them mine". He is right about that. What value are books if they aren't read?
